nominated by a PVCC professor and asked to complete a rigorous applications process that included submitting a videotape of teaching methods. Linda was one of only three teachers to be selected in Arizona, an honor no teacher from Arizona had for the last two years.

Linda Coyle makes science more understandable for her students by using hands-on activities and real-world examples. Every day her students use technology to enhance their lessons and take numerous field trips, including taking their final exam at a roller coaster park where the students must complete a physics exam following each ride. But Linda’s goals are as much humanitarian as educational. She says, “My goal is to give my students the skills and experience necessary to continue their education, and to become contributing members in a society rich in science and technology.”
