Dysart Unified School District IT Director Named to NSBA Technology Leadership Network '20 to Watch'
ALEXANDRIA, VA - October 7, 2009 - The National School Boards Association's (NSBA) Technology Leadership Network (TLN) has named Dysart Unified School District Director of Information Technology Evan Allred to its annual list of "20 to Watch" emerging leaders in education technology.
Allred and his fellow technology leaders have been recognized for championing technology initiatives making a difference for students, teachers, school districts and the greater education technology community.
According to the NSBA TLN announcement, Allred "...has made using technology to gain 21st Century skills a priority for his rapidly growing school district. He has overseen efforts to put more computers in classrooms and used technologies to help students gain real-life job skills."
The NSBA TLN announcement also praised Allred's passion regarding changing instructional practices to better incorporate new technologies. It also noted his attention to detail: "(Allred) attends every single building walkthrough, listening to educators and translating his classroom observations into action for his department with a shared district goal of improving instruction and boosting student achievement."
All 20 technology leaders will be recognized during NSBA's annual Technology and Learning Conference, T+L, scheduled on Oct. 28-30, in Denver.
