The transition from high school to the real world can be a difficult and stressful time for many
students—especially for those with disabilities. East Valley school districts are joining
forces to host the sixth annual East Valley Transition Fair, January 26, 2010 from 5:30–8:00 p.m. at Mesquite High School in
Gilbert.
More than 400 students and families from around the East Valley will attend the Transition Fair to
learn about services that are available once they leave high school. Representatives from over 50 organizations that serve individuals with disabilities are
gathering in one location to offer information and support to students with a range of disabilities. Vendors include local colleges and universities,
government agencies, and local non-profit and for-profit organizations.
The Fair is planned by Special Education staff from school districts in Gilbert, Chandler, Higley,
Mesa, Queen Creek, Tempe, Apache Junction, and Fountain Hills.
